When I was a freshman in college the school newspaper wrote an article on me. Because I had come into the university as both a high school football and track star, the hopes were that I would continue in that vein and become a two sport success in college as well.
I was interviewed by a reporter for the school’s newspaper, and the article was entitled: “Kenny Randle: A Study in Determination”
I never forgot that article because it exemplified how I always had lived my life. I lived life determined to succeed, determined to win, determined to survive and overcome whatever came my way.
I’m reminded of a saying my pastor Bishop TD Jakes quotes and still shares in his messages that states: “It doesn’t matter how you start, it only matters how you finish.” All too often people are stopped by their start. If it wasn’t glamorous or stellar, they tend to denigrate and demean it. They convince themselves that since they didn’t start well, they won’t end well. The important thing to know is you can start slow or poorly, yet still win big because you finish well. It’s the Finish that makes the difference.
Therefore earning my place was just a matter of never giving up and continuing to believe in myself. It took praying, trusting and searching for those willing to assist me in my quest for success. I am still amazed at the number of people that came in the circle to assist me find my victory at this next level!
Is that the mindset you have right now? Are you determined to win at all costs! Of course it must be done honestly and legally. Maybe you’ve been disillusioned, feel stuck, or feel like you never truly have made that transition? There must be something inside of you, it’s called BELIEF and DETERMINATION, don’t give up, help is on the way, the resources, are not hidden from, but hidden for you.
